Dr. Hulce leads the Department of Chemistry's Laboratory for Metalloorganic Chemistry.

Dr. Hulce's laboratory investigates new methods of preparing carbon-carbon bonds by exploiting modern metalloorganic chemistry. Ongoing applications of their carbon-carbon bond-forming strategies include the synthesis of model molecules to study DNA site-specific anticancer antibiotics, novel allene-forming reactions, and the preparation of molecules that mimic peptides.
