James Fletcher, PhD

Assistant Professor
Organic Chemistry

Research in the Fletcher lab involves the design, synthesis and characterization of interesting organic and organometallic molecules.  Projects include:

(1) the development of peptidomimetic architectures (organic non-peptides shaped like peptides) with the purpose of creating new biomaterials

(2) the synthesis of organic chelators and their organometallic complexes with the purpose of creating new chemosensors and photosensitizing dyes for solar cell applications

(3) the attachment of peptides with organometallic units for the purposes of creating new biochemical probes and imaging agents
