Awards are made following the scoring system described below:

Overall Performance Awards are determined first.  Each team will receive a ranking for its performance in each event.  The highest (best) score will be given a rank of 1.

    EXAMPLE
   score   rank

   99         1
   98         2
   95         3
   95         3
   95         3
   92         6
   etc.

For each team a grand total will be obtained by summing the individual event rankings for all six event.  The smallest sum of rankings will determine the overall winner.  These totals are used to determine the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place primary and advanced teams.

Distinguished Recognition Event Awards are determined next.  Winners of overall awards are ineligible for these awards because they have won an overall award.  Each team may win only one award.  Awards will be granted in the order listed above.  Once a team has won an event award, it will be judged ineligible for another. In case of a tie, the decision of the event judge or the team with the lowest overall score will be used to select the one team to receive the award.
