About the
Show...
A Melodious Musichemical Manifestation was first performed for
Chemistry Field Day in 1995. Since then, there have been approximately
two dozen performances. Shows are performed twice a year at Creighton.
There are two performances during the first week in November to
celebrate National Chemistry Week and one performance in April for
Chemistry Field Day. The show has traveled to Minneapolis where it was
the keynote presentation at an international conference of chemical
educators. It has twice gone to Fargo, ND for chemistry meetings and
once to Huron, SD for the state science teachers' meeting.
The show serves
many functions. Our primary goal is to entertain the audience with the
joy of chemistry in a unique way. The show also brings our faculty and
students together to share our "talents" with the community, fulfilling
part of our departmental mission.
